Earth Hour 2011 Manila, Philippines

This was how earth hour was in Manila Philippines.
All my excitement levels dropped to nil when I saw the result in unfold in my eyes.
My expectations were high and yes, I expected too much.
The world is changing, collapsing and yet we remain to close our eyes, act blind and pretend to be deaf to Mother Nature's roar.
I patiently waited.
I expected too much when I should be satisfied -- at least there were those who tried.

Forgive me not!

Forgive me but I do not want to look at your photo album.
I'm literally salivating and close to dying out of envy because of all the photos that you took from your travel to Paris.
How I wish I could find time, just like you to capture every moment.
Breath deeply.
Appreciate the surroundings.
Take a photo.
Smile after.
Life should be good.
Life should be pleasant.
How I wish I could afford to travel just like you.
But I know someday I will too.

love your body

I am not loving mine right now. Call me vain. Maybe I am. I don't have a perfect body. I have wide hips and huge thighs. I am pear shaped have accepted and love that fact. There's nothing really much I can do about it, right?

But since last year... sometime August having recovered from my hepa A sickness, I purposely did not go on a diet and didn't do much of excerise for the following reasons:
1. I was afraid that I might have a relapse again, one of which is losing too much weight
2. Because I didn't want to get sick again, I decided not to starve myself too death.
3. I stopped running because I started to ride my bike.
4. I realized that start of this year, I've been sitting on my ass -- working in front of my computer or stuck in long long meetings where I do nothing but sit on my ass and talk/listen.

I know my tummy is getting bigger... which I am start to working on. But this realization even stressed me further when I had to suddenly look for a dress for a wedding that I will attend this Saturday. It's only two days away and I have nothing to wear and it's very late to have one made.

I first tried the purple dress I wore during krisan's wedding. I decided maybe I could wear that because I haven't worn it except during my bestfriend's wedding. Boy did I try it on.... oh my golly wow!!! my tummy was bulging out. The dress looks fine. I was able to zip it up. The problem was on the tummy area.... it was the same level as my breasts.... geez. I hate it. I hate it. I hate.

Next was this gold/copper two piece dress that I have. I've worn it a couple of times. Not to glad though. It still fits me, very tight around the tummy, but I'm not happy.

I am fat. I hate it. I have to work out double time. I hate myself more because it's so hard to find time. I really have to work it out with my stomach. We've got a lot of working out to do.

Plus, I really have to say goodbye to chocolate bars for now. Time to give you up. I'll be back in shape.

I don't have any plans of becoming too skinny because I know I will never be one. I just can't accept the fact that my tummy is way, way too big.

But I shall not fret. I shall have faith in myself that I can do it and I will lose the weight. I'm giving myself two months. I'll get there.

books books books

I have a new book. I wasn't suppose to buy a new book because I haven't finished "Ground Beneath My Feet" by Salmon Rushdie. I couldn't remember when I bought that book. I think i bought it last April 2008 for my trip to Bali.

Usually, I would only buy a book on certain occasions such as when I happen to see a book written by Nick Hornby that's below P700 pesos or when I have a trip somewhere usually beach trips.

Since I started working I never really found time to read books again. I would usually go home late and dead tired to the world to even pick up a book. Plus my eyes would definitely hurt having to face the computer for more than eight hours a day.

The perfect opportunity for me to read a book is when I travel. Reading a book is better than having to stare into space, staring at other people or talking with someone you don't really feel like talking to while waiting for the bus, the boat or for the plane to arrive. However due to my short attention span when I am not inside the house I could only read for a short period of time, unless the book is (a) Danielle Steele, Dan Brown, Sydeny Sheldon, John Grisham where mystery, drama unfolds right before your eyes or (b) a compilation of short stories. After that short period of time devoted to reading, i then either close my eyes, listen to music or stare into space and eventually people watch. The book is then placed inside a ziplock together with a small noteboo and a pen and stuffed inside my bag. Most of the time, that book will be able to breath fresh air when I am on a different trip or when I remember that there's this book that I needed to finish.

Admittedly, there are times that I would already forget what the story is all about or the page where I last stopped. I am not a fan of bookmarks because I always lose them nor do I fold the page.

Because I couldn't find the "Ground Beneath her feet" and had an unexpected business trip the next day to Singapore, I decided to buy a new book. There was a struggle which book to purchase. I was eyeing at three books: Travellers Wife and two novels by Haruki Murakami. I wanted all of them but then I had to act smartly and think wisely. I don't want to buy too much books until I have a place of my own where I can settle and display my book collection. Until I have that place, I try not as much to purchase much and borrow instead. I'm thinking of selling some of my books since I know that I can always purchase one again when I have my own house.

Anyways, my friend Vyx has a copy of Travellers Wife, if will save me a couple of hundred bucks too, y'know.
So I ended up with this:

The funny thing was I never got to even open a single page of the book while I was on my way to Singapore because I also bought a copy of the latest Reader's Digest Asia which I read and finished.

So today, while wasting time because I didn't go to work, I noticed the new book. I just finished Chapter One. I will try to read atleast one chapter per day or per week? I will try my best.

Last year, I promised myself to read at least 4 Filipino literary pieces. 1 atleast every quarter. I haven't bought a single book written by a Filipino. Shame on me. The year isn't over though... let's see what will happen next.

goodbye!

I am finally saying goodbye to my almost 9 year old email address. A week ago I was still hopeful that maybe when my mind is clear or when I am not extremely busy, I can still save my email add. I only found time tonight, June 14, Sunday. Tonight, my mind is clear. Tonight, I am not tired at all. I drank brewed coffee at around 6 p.m., that will definitely keep me awake until the early hours of the morning. I was wrong and yes, I give up.

About a month ago, I decided to clean up my inbox. It had 2000+messages.  I cleared everything. All emails sent with photos attached, I either saved, deleted or forwarded to my other email address.

3 weeks ago, I noticed while logged  on meebo that my personal yahoo email address was not functioning. I needed to go online. I needed to chat with my friends. But since I was very busy at work I didn't really have time to check what was wrong. My work yahoo email add was working just fine.

2 weeks ago, I finally checked my yahoo mail and realized that I couldn't log in. Weird, I thought. How could I possibly go wrong with my password when I've been using the same one for almost 9 years.

I went through all the steps on how to retrieve a password again. Yahoo made me think of several password over and over and over again until eventually I got confused and I was no longer aware what really is my 'correct current password,' and the site would eventually lead me to this page...

WTF!

Anyway, I went through this several times early last week and a few hours ago.  I give up. I'm tired. Last week, I've been contemplating if I should really let go. I didn't want to because this has been my email add post college. Everyone knew this email address. More importantly, I am too lazy to understand how to export my contacts to my other email addy.

This is hard for me. I find it really difficult to let go of things I value the most.

To finally let go of my beloved email address is like breaking up with a lover. Hard to let go at first but as time passes by,  I've come to realized that it speaks so much of my attitude towards love and life.

Before, I would let my sad feelings linger until  I become lifeless and clueless about my self. I would get lost in my own sad emotion  that I no longer knew who I really was. As I get older, I realized that all that matters is I have loved and lost, laughed and cried and then you move on.  What is important is the present and if that doesn't work out you try to do something -- save it. But if it doesn't want to be saved then take the hint and move on. Time is too precious, life is too short. Use it wisely. Sad memories will only bring tears in ones eyes and unwanted wrinkles around it.

I did try to save my email address several times. I waited for the moment to fix it when I had enough time and when my mind is clear. It didn't want to be saved. 'Asis315@yahoo.com' provided me with damn good service for nine years.

I am now officially letting you go.

----------

P.S.: Just like any break up moment with a partner, the other party will try to save it and ask for a second chance and hopefully everything will work out.

Yahoo asked my password twice until I got to the termination page. Of course, on those two instances I had to click the "learn more" while risking that someone might be able to access my page. Finally on the termination page, before I can actually click the "termination button" it asked for my password. Dang, what do I do? I don't know frieking now my password!

I went to the "i forgot my password" page and got to a page which said something like, we will reset your account after 24 hours because the setting has been locked. HUWATT???

I just want to get rid of this account! I quit. I will try my luck soon. But if it doesn't want to let me go then bahala na si batman. Ayaw ko na sayo.
